LiveDifferent is looking for Media Volunteers to join select international Builds where additional media support is needed. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is skilled behind the camera, but even more importantly, someone who is people-focused, adaptable, and deeply aligned with the heart behind the experience.
Our Media Volunteers help capture the story of the trip, documenting powerful moments of connection, service, and impact as teams help build homes for families who do not have access to basic shelter in Mexico or the Dominican Republic.

What We’re Looking For
A strong Media Volunteer is someone who:
- genuinely loves people and connects well with others

- understands how to tell stories with dignity and care
- is passionate about making a meaningful difference
- recognizes that the mission and people always come before personal content or portfolio goals
Technical skill matters – but heart, humility, and character matter most.
Role Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Media Volunteer is to capture video content throughout the trip for documentation and storytelling purposes.
This may include filming:
- travel moments
- team interactions and behind-the-scenes experiences
- build-site footage
- community interactions
- meaningful interactions with families, local staff and community
- interviews or story-based content when appropriate
Volunteers are expected to bring their own camera equipment and gear.
Expected Deliverables
Media Volunteers will be responsible for creating the following core deliverables:
- Social Media Stories
Daily stories highlighting photos and videos of what happened that day.
- Trip Montage Video
A direct montage-style edit that captures the overall experience, atmosphere, and key moments of the trip.
- Impact Story Videos
Edited story-driven videos featuring individual stories of impact, paired with interviews and additional B-roll footage where needed.
- Google Photos Album or shareable album
Access to photos for LiveDifferent to use for other projects.
The exact number and scope of deliverables may vary depending on the nature of the Build.
What’s Covered
This opportunity is volunteer-based, but all trip-related expenses are covered, including:
- flights to and from the Build
- accommodations
- meals
- in-country transportation
Volunteers are responsible for getting themselves to and from their departure airport. From there, LiveDifferent covers the rest.
